The PLANET EARTH SEASON’s flagship event is exclusive to Oxford this year. EARTH FROM THE AIR AT OXFORD CASTLE, by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, is an astounding exhibition of 120 giant sized floodlit pictures. It is a photographic portrait of our planet illuminating its beauty whilst raising awareness of man’s impact. The FREE outdoor exhibition will be at the Oxford Castle, in central Oxford, from 20 September until January. It can be viewed at any time of day or night without prior booking.

EARTH FROM THE AIR is a spectacular presentation of large-scale pictures of the Earth and astonishing natural landscapes. Created by world-famous photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, every stunning aerial photograph tells a story about our changing planet. Seen together, they are an outstanding visual testimony to the world we live in today. A world with a growing population, shrinking biodiversity, polluted lands and oceans, a changing climate and a shortage of drinking water. A world, nevertheless, of beauty and of wonder.
How Can I Make A Difference?
From 2001, our demand on the world’s natural resources has exceeded nature’s ability to regenerate itself by twenty one per cent. It is now vital that we adopt a more sustainable lifestyle and make small changes in our daily life if we are to sustain and protect our world for future generations. But, how do I do this? The success of the Earth from the Air exhibition and our Go M.A.D. campaign, that is Go Make A Difference, has made us realise if each and everyone of us make small changes, collectively we can make a substantial impact and a BIG difference. On this website, you will find many ideas and contacts to help and encourage you to Go M.A.D. It contains many tips and advice, ecological facts and figures and Yann’s powerful photographs of the beauty of our world, but with increasing demand by humanity.

- SANDBANK ON THE COAST OF WHITSUNDAY ISLAND, Queensland, Australia. (S 20°17' E 148°59'). Innumerable coral islets and continental islands are sprinkled over the narrow corridor separating the coasts of Queensland, in northeastern Australia, from the Great Barrier Reef about 20 miles (30 km) offshore. Ten thousand years ago, before sea level had risen after the last ice age, the continental islands of today were still hills bordering the continental Australian plateau. Among them, Whitsunday Island, 43 square miles (109 km2) in area, is the largest of the 74 islands that make up the archipelago of the same name, baptized by British navigator James Cook, who discovered the islands in 1770 on Whitsunday (the Sunday of Pentecost). As seen here on Whitehaven beach, the islands’ shoreline is marked by the exceptional whiteness of its sand, made up of coral sediment. This site is part of Great Barrier Marine Park, which receives more than 2 million visitors each year. Tourism, tightly regulated, has only a slight impact on this sensitive site, unlike the repeated, unexplained invasions of crown-of-thorns starfish, a marine species that has damaged close to 20 percent of the reefs in the past thirty years.
Britain from the Air
As you may have seen on BBC One's their new series 'Britain from Above' shows there is some truly breath-taking scenery within our country. We have produced a range of 51 greetings cards featuring some well known landmarks alongside some more surprising landscapes. Some of our cards feature images by Jason Hawkes who contributed to the programme.

Wecommunic8 has been exhibiting photos and information about the beauty of our planet for a number of years. Using images including landscapes, seascapes and wildlife, we have successfully designed and produced impressive street gallery exhibitions that are both awe inspiring and moving at the same time. We also publish a number of products to compliment these exhibitions including calendars, diaries, and greetings cards. Our website also sells related books and prints.
One of the larger projects, Earth from the Air by Yann Arthus - Bertrand has been enjoyed by millions of people since 2002 at the London's Natural History Museum and has continued on National Tour, our street gallery exhibitions becoming popular City Centre attractions.
Though this has been extremely informative and opened many eyes to the plight of saving this beautiful planet, we increasingly found many visitors were interested in pictures of our own green and pleasant land. We began to liaise with a number of photographers with a view to putting together a collection of their images to show just how stunning and spectacular Britain from the air really is.
When asked to name a place of beauty most would mention far off locations and entirely forget the jewels of splendour that are literally on our doorstep. With this in mind our aim is to change this perception and bring together some of the most intriguing aerial shots of our country and allowing them to be enjoyed as fully as our previous aerial exhibitions have.
Our new aerial collection 'Britain from the air' shows Britain from above, with GPS locations and fascinating accompanied text.
